Turns Out Clubhouse is Nothing to be Scared of

Updated: Aug 13, 2022

I was invited to speak at the Poshmark room on the Clubhouse app, but was hesitant because of the d-word. You know, drama.

Drama seems to be a constant in the #resellercommunity and as a former high school teacher, I can say confidently that I am over the drama. So when Marina from @standoutstaples reached out to me and asked me to speak one morning on Clubhouse, I was hesitant to say the least.

However, Marina's passion won me over and she easily convinced me to join.

What is Clubhouse?

I like to think of Clubhouse as a live podcast where the listeners can jump in. Once you download the Clubhouse app, find a "room" that interests you and join to listen-- that's it. If you want to join in on the conversation, you can "raise your hand" and ask to be on "the stage" (where the speakers are). But you don't have to talk, you can just listen. You can also listen to and replay past audio that you missed.

The Poshmark Room

Let me tell you, I had such a blast in the Poshmark room on Clubhouse. It's so nice to be able to come together and freely exchange ideas and ask questions as they come up. Being self-employed can get lonely, so Clubhouse is a wonderful way to meet and learn from the community outside of Instagram.

Don't Be Scared

The morale of the story? Don't be scared. Seriously, I feel so silly now for being so resistant to joining.

Join the Poshmark Room on Clubhouse every Monday morning at 11am EST (10c, 9m, 8p) to learn from and connect with fellow resellers.
